Ruapotaka School Mini Olympics
Last week Friday, Ruapotaka School had a mini Olympic. It was a very hot day, I felt like I was melting.
We had different teams the names was Greece, Germany, Kenya, USA, Ethiopia, NZ, Australia, Cook islands,South Africa , Russia, France, Japan, China, Jamaica,Turkey, Brazil. That is all of the teams, my team is NZ we had 10 people in our team. Afterwards we all started the games we first Vs Turkey at egg and spoon race.
It was fun, we lost but it didn't matter about winning, it was all about the sportsmanship and leadership. We had 4 rotations, It was very fun, my most favorite game was the long jump and i like helping the little kids play. Eventually we lined up, then the teachers gave out the medal, at once I thought I wasn't going to get a medal but then I heard my name, I felt so cheerful. Then we finished off by singing the NZ anthem.

Bond and Murray win Gold
Rowing greatest team Hamish Bond and Eric Murray has won New Zealand’s first gold at the Rio Olympics. Bond and Murray sat in about third position over the first time ever 500m of the 2000m race. At the 1500m the rest of the field were simply battling it out for second with Bond and Murray, two and a half lengths in front.
While the South African crew pegged back some of that lead over the final 500m to finish second, the New Zealanders won by over a boat length with Italy third.

Shot Put super star Valarie Adams has won silver medal at the 2016 Rio Olympics. Michelle Carter from USA won the final with 20.63m throw which was too good for Adams. Carter blew away the competition with her final throw after trailing Adams for the entire competition. Plus Anita Morton from Hungary came third.

Every morning we meet up at 8:00 am. We start working on our shots and our skills, I was the goalie. They kept shooting the ball at me and I would always dive for it, We then had a game and there were 11 people on each side. My team had 4 goals and the other team had
5, while we were playing, Neymar came with the ball and he kicked the ball into the goal, but lucky I dived for it and caught it, I then passed the ball to Umtiti and he kicked it into the goal and he got it in, when it was full time, it was nice but it was a draw, After we packed up, we went and had a look at the stadium that we were playing in, it was very big, the stadium was called Maracana Stadium. I had an awesome time and it was fun.
